July has arrived and July 4th will be the coming week. That means half the year is now past. Ands what have we gotten done? Our garden and yard are growing.
Traditionally we check the corn to see if it is knee high. No problem this year. Then we check our potatoes. Another tradition is to have new potatoes for July 4th - even if only small ones. And our garden usually has a few other vegetables ready to sample. And then the night of July 4th, we take in fireworks somewhere. And then back to work. Sometimes this writer was in Summer School.
Now we look forward to the rest of the year. And what do we need to get done. As for our gardens we hope to have good produce - some to use now and some to store for winter.
Just so we don’t get hailed out or washed out. or insects damage what raise for our dinners. That will be enough work to do to keep our yards and gardens going.
Back inside the house be sure to water your house plants. Until next week.
