GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Another month is ending. This time March. We’ve had little hard winter this year.

Spring has arrived - on the calendar. In past years this is about the time we keep an eye out for signs of Spring. This week we did see a robin out walking on the yard. Didn’t see it pull up a worm. It just kept on walking and listening.

The long-term weather prediction is this summer will be hot.

We hope you have your garden plans made. And yard plans too. We do notice some seed sales. Stock up if you need some.

You might also check out your lawn mower too. Give it a try. Then take care of service problems before the grass gets too tall.

Then look over the yard and garden to see what needs to get done before planting. In our case we’ve always had to have a bonfire to take care of the tree branches which fell over winter. This will keep you busy some evenings and a few weekends too.

And then there’s spring house cleaning too. And caring for your house plants.

Until next week.
