Thanksgiving is over and so is our outside gardening. Now its back to inside activities (when we don’t have snow to shovel). And back inside the house we will keep busy.
Much more than just watering the house plants.
We now have two upcoming holidays to get ready for.
We have already mentioned Christmas Day and activities. Dinner will be somewhere (if we aren’t snowed in). Gifts will be exchanged (or delivered), And any Christmas cards sent and received.
And then there’s the matter of family business and finances. Most of us now use a computer to help with the finances.
Our church denomination office tells me the Development office office is the busiest time of the year.
Most denomination offices are in skeleton staff during December, but the Development office is running on full staff and overtime. Church doners are now deciding how much they can donate to the church (local and denomination) to keep their taxes down. They are going full steam until mid January. And merchants are also keeping their doors open late nights for shoppers.
And back inside the house, another house cleaning is needed plus any projects needed for this year will hopefully get done.
In some cases we make our annual fone calls to friends and relation we haven’t checked with for a while. Long distance calls are not as expensive as they used to be.
In this writer’s case, we pay for our cell phone on an annual plan with all the calls we make included.
And there are family, school and church events we must must attend too.
Too many wait until the last minute as usual.
Now back to work.
Until next week.
