Summer started this past week (Friday). This was the longest day of the year. From now on until the start of Winter in December the days will shorten a bit each day. One radio person of years back always mentioned how much longer or short each day changed. About 5 or 6 minutes daily as we recall.
Otherwise we got enough rain this past week for a while. Not that we didn’t need it. And some places in the area also got hail. We can remember one year when we heard some fields not too far away got hailed out. Father had to see so we drove out. We found the roadside ditches half full of hail. Then when we got home we found our fields hailed out - but good. Thank goodness for hail insurance. We’ve had tornadoes too. Hopefully not nearby this year. Back home have some garden weeding and yard work to get done - when its not too wet. Remember to try to have some garden produce on July 4th. And now watch for insects - especially mosquitoes. They hatch and breed in puddles of water. We’ve seen them in tin cans and the stock tanks. Mosquito spray might come in handy. And a fly swatter too. Otherwise remember to water your indoor plants too. Until next week.
