By Arnold Krusemark April is here. No more snow until Fall. We could use some rain though. Now to check the garden to see if it is ready to plant. Our technique in years past was to take the hoe out and try digging into the ground (flower or garden plot). If we could dig down at least four inches we thought the garden was ready to plant. So that’s what we started the next Saturday.
We’ve been noticing the first signs of Spring too. We’ve seen robins outside. Soon there will be grass. The trees will bud out along with the annual plants (tulips, for instance). These are all good signs of spring. Just so it doesn’t freeze some night.
And Easter will be along too. With its festivities. And then this year’s gardening will be in full force. We did see And so will yard work.
In the meantime, be sure you are ready for Spring and Summer. Make sure the garden tools are ready, the seeds are too. And try out the lawn mower too. Now is time to get it serviced as needed. This should keep you busy for the time being - day and night. Days and week-ends.
In the meantime be sure to care for your house plants too.
Until next week.
