GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Another month is over. We now have two months left in this year. Our gardening is now closing up for the year. We do have work to get done though.

First, we retrieve whatever produce we have left in the garden. Then, possibly, get the ground plowed for winter. It has not frozen yet so we will probably wait until the last minute before hauling in the remaining garden produce. In the meantime other work is needed. We had our furnace winterized. The car still needs it.

In past years the house got winterized too - replacing window screens with storm windows. Maybe the lawn will get one more mowing. Now to get the tulips planted.

The idea is to get everything done in time for Thanksgiving. Our first snow of the season usually arrives shortly before Thanksgiving. It also ok to make plans for the rest of the year too. This has included holiday plans, house items too. Some things keep on going. Watering our house plants, for example. We will keep busy. Only some of the work is different. Until next week.
