This will have been a busy week for nearly everyone - first getting things ready for Christmas and then Christmas Day. In past years that meant starting with cleaning the house, buying the remaining food items and getting the last of the Christmas cards out. Reading those which arrived and then the Christmas presents too, buying, wrapping, and finally exchanging them.
Most of us will remember many Christmases in the past and whatever happened then. Mother used to tell when the train brought the packages. One time she had to carry the load while her brothers had to be kept unaware of the contents.
Once Christmas Day is over then we have the problem of leftovers from the dinner, house cleaning after the guests leave and then the next week of finishing the year. Times have changed little but some things never do. With our computer we know what the year’s finances have for results. Then, the final week of the year we make out charity checks and deliver, mail or donate via phone and credit card. The same for paying bills. These are some of the things we remember.
Back home be sure to water your house plants too.
Until next week.
