By Arnold Krusemark There are two big events this week-end. We hope you can participate in both one way or another. Saturday is the opening of the fishing season for this year. There are many fishing stories told, many about the big fish that got away. We suspect you all have your own fish stories. Sometimes its what you caught instead of a fish. Sometimes it was something else alive other than fish. In this writer’s memory we got to fish in the creek on our land until Father thought we had enough fish for the night and then it was time to quit.
Sunday will be Mother’s Day. Most of us remember our mothers. This writer remembers we went to a church service one Sunday years back. Each woman was asked when they entered if their mother was still alive. If so, they got a red carnation. If mother had passed on then white carnation. Then the service.
We suspect there will be many mothers visited Sunday in area nursing homes. And if Mother was still home with the family, maybe it will be time to eat dinner out. Whatever do something special if possible. Maybe you might have one of the fish you caught Saturday.
And then this coming week more garden and yard work. Nothing new, just continuing work to be done. In between rain showers of course.
And back inside the house, be sure to care for your house plants. Until next week.
