GREEN THUMB

This weeks’ column is being written Valentine’s day. In past recent columns we discussed what happened in years past to celebrate the day at school.

This year we look out the windows to check the weather. So far this winter we have had mighty little snow and or precipitation. Nearly a drought so far.

The weather forecast of the day tells of a big snowstorm coming in. By the time you readers get this column we will know if we get a big blizzard or just a few flurries - maybe only an inch or two. If that.

On the other hand in a few years past this has been the beginning of the real winter - with a blizzard each week. And plenty of snow days from school There went Easter vacation and more than once school went into June. Time will tell.

In the meantime try to get more planning and orders for garden seeds for this year’s home gardens. And maybe a few trees and shrubs too.

They can still be ordered now and planted when the weather warms up enough and no more frosts.

Back inside the house be sure to care for your house plants too. Until next week.
