GOSPEL COUNTRY MUSIC EVENT TO BE HELD AT WILLOW LAKE CHURCH

Lonesome Doug Productions, featuring Ron and Jane Cote, will be the headline act at the gospel country music event on Sunday, September 21, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Willow Lake Church, located at 230th Avenue, Tracy. All are welcome. The event is free of charge. This is an opportunity to share this historic landmark with the surrounding communities and increase awareness of its availability for events, weddings, funerals, baptisms, wedding vow renewals, and more.

Located on the prairie between Tracy and Currie, Willow Lake Church was organized in 1874, and the building was built in 1899. Some updates were made to the church last year, including a new roof and siding, a deep clean of both upstairs and downstairs areas, and new exterior doors. This is an opportunity for all who have never known of this prairie treasure to view and enjoy a built, beautiful rural church and learn more about the history of this area.

The gospel country music event offers the Friends of Willow Lake an opportunity to share this beautiful, rural, and historic landmark with others. It also provides an opportunity for interested individuals and organizations that would be supportive of donating to preserve this historic landmark, a chance to experience this valued part of our rural community.

Historic Slaughter Slough is located three miles south of the church, and End of the Line Museum and Lake Shetek State Park near Currie are six miles away.
