A compass is a very valuable tool and has saved countless lives since it was invented. I never used a compass until I joined the military in 1969 and was trained how to use them. I walked as a pointman in Viet-Nam most of my tour, even when I became a Scout-Sniper. My job was to get information from headquarters over the radio, (in code), decipher the code and use my map to plot our course for night patrols and ambushes. As point-man I had to carefully test the ground before each step I took to discover booby-traps; (I used a thin stick to feel the ground,) also look for possible ambushes.
Fortunately, I found many booby-traps and trip wires that would set off the booby-traps. I had to stay close to the route I had plotted out on the map, but there was some lee-way. If rice paddies were nearby, I took the troops through the water since gun powder and water don’t mix. I could not lead the troops too far off course in case I led us into another ‘friendlies’ area of operation and was attacked by our guys.
I look throughout society today and I see millions of people with no compass to lead them to go the direction they ought to be going, and they are being destroyed as they wander aimlessly into multitudes of Satan’s booby-traps. Alcohol, drugs, perversion, depression, suicide, etc. So many are totally hopeless.
Well, praise the Lord, God has a compass; it is called the Bible. Someone said the word Bible stands for (Basic Information Before Leaving Earth). That’s good. Is your life out of control? How about your children and grand-children?
We all need God’s compass to bring us safely to our destination. God bless.
