By John Stenen An elderly gentleman was walking down the street with his young grandson when they were approached by a man who was down and out asking for enough money to buy a sandwich and a cup of coffee. Grandpa gave the man a five dollar bill which was greatly appreciated.
As they walked on a little further, a young salvation worker was ringing the bell and grandpa dropped in a ten dollar bill. “Gee grandpa,” said the boy, “You sure must have lost a lot since you’ve become a Christian.” “Yes I have. I have lost my wicked temper; I have lost my self-centeredness and selfishness; my health has greatly improved since I lost my desire to drink hard liquor and smoke cigarettes; I have lost all the greed I used to have and many other things I could name, and my life is much better as a result of losing so much of the negative.”Well,” said the boy, “I sure do love you grandpa.”
The above story has been repeated millions and millions of times in the lives of those who have surrendered to Jesus Christ. He still stands outside the door of your heart knocking, and hoping that you will invite Him in. If you do, wonderful changes will begin to occur as the Holy Spirit comes into your life and deposits the very love of God into your heart. (Romans 5: 1-5).
