By John Stenen Here we are, celebrating Christmas once again. How shall we do it? Typically we have time off from work; we usually eat pretty good, and we spend lots of money that could have been better spent for necessary items, but, it’s all good, right? Some will drink too much as they gather with family and friends; and of course we have to go see Santa and let the kids have their picture taken with him or her??? Is that politically correct today? My question is, ‘Where is Jesus in all of this?’
I thank God that many Christians have never forgotten what celebrating Christmas is all about. Much of what I listed above is good. It’s great to be with loved ones and friends, and have a good meal and exchange gifts, but the celebration is supposed to be centered on Jesus Christ; who He is and what He has done for us. Christmas is a time for those who claim to belong to the Lord to worship Him; for He alone is worthy of our worship and adoration. Jesus Christ is God, He created all that you see and do not see.
He so loved you and I, that He came to earth to become one of us and bear all of our sins so that: whosoever believeth, (commits their life to Him,) may have everlasting life.
The greatest gift you can give this year is to give yourself to Christ. Your eternal destiny depends on it. Have your children learned this yet? God bless.
