GOOD NEWS

Many today, including Christians, will mock those who believe in the laying on of hands according to Scripture and prayer for physical healing. Some say, “Well, if healing is for today, why don’t you go into the hospitals and heal everyone.” That would be wonderful, but even Jesus couldn’t do it when He walked the earth. “What?!

That’s a lie some of you are thinking. Jesus could do anything.”

Well, apparently you have not read the first six verses of the sixth chapter of Mark. After Jesus began His ministry when He came out of the wilderness filled with the Holy Spirit, He came to His own home town after doing many miracles. He astonished them with His teachings. “This is the son of Mary, and His brothers and sisters are here,” they said. Scripture says, “they were offended at Him.” And there, in His own hometown, Jesus could do very little in the way of healing those who needed healing. Why?

They had the same problem that we, today, struggle with: ignorance and unbelief! “He marveled at their unbelief and then went around teaching the Word of God to all the surrounding villages.”

Why? Because faith comes by hearing God’s Word.
