GOOD NEWS

The story is told of Cyprian the Bishop of Carthage in the third century; he wrote a letter to his friend Donatus, “It is a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world. But I have discovered, in the midst of it, a quiet and holy people who have learned a great secret.

They have found a joy which is a thousand times better than any of the pleasures of our sinful life. They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls. They have overcome the world. These people, Donatus, are Christians - and I am one of them.”

Does that describe you? The free gift of salvation is the greatest gift from God that any person could ever receive. Once you are born into this life, you will live forever; you will never cease to exist. You should be concerned with where you will spend eternity. It’s either heaven or hell. What you do with Christ will determine where you spend eternity. “You will not come to Me, that you might have life.” John 5:40. “If you have the Son, you have life, if you have not the Son, you have not life.” 1 John 5:11-12.

John 1:12 says, “But as many as have received Him, to them gave He the power to become the children of God.” Receive
