From before the creation of this earth, the Bible reveals to us that even though God is complete and has need of nothing, He desires a family. Who knows how many angels He has to serve Him, but He wanted children. He created us and revealed certain information about Himself in the Bible, so that in time, we would all come to realize our need for redemption and reconciliation and become His child and He would be our heavenly Father.
The Old Testament pointed everyone towards Jerusalem. All the prophecies, and the types and shadows and sacrifices which revealed that one day, a Messiah would come to this earth to rescue us from our sin and open the way for us to no longer be ‘sons of Adam’, but to become the ‘sons of God.’ {Read Romans 5:}. No matter how good you or I think we are, if we have not received Jesus Christ as our Lord and live for Him and keep His commandments - we are a child of the devil. (Read John 8:}.
One day, Jesus Christ is going to come for those who belong to Him; I hope you are wise and give your life to Him. If not, you will go into the seven year Tribulation that will be worse than anything this world has ever seen before. Or, you may ‘pass on’ today with a heart attack or whatever, and do you think you will go to be with Christ if you have never known Him as Lord? So many of the so-called ‘good, and religious’ people of Jesus’ day were told that the harlots and publicans {tax collectors} would enter the kingdom of God before them and they would go to hell. {Read Mt. 23:}. Think about it.
