A Christian worker was doing his best to lead a friend to the Lord Jesus Christ; asking him to please accept the grace of God in Christ by faith alone.
The friend said, “I will never believe until I have an experience first.” Said the Christian worker, “You will never have an experience until you believe.” He was right of course. The manifestation of Jesus Christ in salvation comes to the man who obeys His command to believe.
The way to please God is to accept Jesus, His Word, all of His promises by faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” In August of 1972, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I was on that broad path that leads to eternal damnation.
That afternoon, I knelt next to my rack and repented of my life of sin. I was genuinely sorry and had much guilt and shame. When I asked Jesus to come into my heart and wash my sin away with His cleansing blood, my life changed. Friend, Jesus is the only one that can change our lives for the better.
