Many people believe that if they try harder to be a better person, they can eventually be good enough to be accepted by God and have a place in heaven. The problem with this belief is that you can never, in your own strength, accomplish that goal.
You must be changed! That’s why Jesus said in John 3:3 that in order to enter into the kingdom of God you must be ‘born-again.’ Ephesians 2:1 tells us that we were all at one time ‘dead in our trespass and sins.’ It’s only when we are in Christ that we go from death unto life. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “And this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” It couldn’t be made more plain. Only God can change us and make us a new creation in Christ. When we accept Christ, we stop being a lost son of Adam and we become a saved child of God.
How wonderful is that? Christ came to seek and to save those who are lost and offer them everlasting life. Has He gotten to you yet?
