GOOD NEWS

How do you become a Christian? I have asked multitudes of people that question over the years; both those who go to church and those who do not. It always amazes me when they answer, “Just try to be the best person you can be.” Or, “Get water baptized.” What does Scripture say about this? The Bible tells us that our good works will never save us. Read Ephesians 2:8-10.

Once we get saved, good works should be a large part of our Christians life. Also, when we read the New Testament, it shows us that those who received Christ and were ‘bornagain’ were baptized in water after they became Christians.

He was saved on the Damascus road and three days later he was baptized in water; the Samaritans in Acts 8: and the eunuch in the same Chapter.

Also, the jailer in Acts 16: was saved and then water baptized, and on and on it goes. Read 1 Cor. 1:12-21 and see what Paul said about baptism. He said that it is through the foolishness of preaching that men are saved.

The first step in salvation is to hear the Gospel and believe it and receive it. Secondly, repent of your sinful lifestyle; thirdly, by faith receive Jesus into your heart and declare Him as Lord of your life. See John 1:12 and Romans 10:9-10.

Then get baptized and -Then develop your relationship with Christ by spending lots of time with Him and fellow believ-
