An elderly gentleman spoke with much passion as he said to a group of young people. “I’m old, and may never have the chance to speak to you again. I sincerely tell you that your only safety lies in Jesus Christ. Take all of your problems to Him. The world needs one standard; just as we need one standard for the yard stick; one standard for the pound; one standard of truth.
Without standards there would be cheating, strife, and all manner of crime including murder. We need one standard, the saving grace of Jesus, to bring peace and stability to our world.”
Imagine a world where everyone has surrendered to Christ and faithfully serves Him. They love God, keep His commands, and they love one another. Such a world will exist, and it may not be too far away. I am no longer looking for ‘signs’ of His coming, I am listening for the sound of the trumpet, (1 Thess. 4: 13-18).
When this happens, will you be among those who rise to meet the Lord in the air and forever be with Him? I hope you will be. All of history proves that the prophesies of Jesus Christ have been fulfilled, -this one will come to pass as well. Don’t just ‘hope’ that you will make it to heaven; know for certain by repenting of your sin and receiving Christ into your heart, and live each day as if He were coming today. God bless.
