By John Stenen While blasting rock, a man lost both of his hands and his body was wounded severely and his eyesight was destroyed. He was a new believer and had fallen in love with reading the Word of God. He heard of a woman who could read Braille with her lips. His friends ordered parts of the Bible in the Moon raised type.
When it arrived, he discovered that the blast had also destroyed the nerves in his lips and he could not feel the type. He then figured there was nothing else he could do; so, in sadness he lowered his head and kissed his Bible farewell. However, his tongue touched the leather and he could feel. The teacher was sent for and he learned to read the raised type with his tongue.
What an amazing story of being diligent. Scripture tells us, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Heb. 11:6). Too often Christians will allow the bless.
