GOOD NEWS

We often tend to compare ourselves with others in many areas of life. However, 2 Cor. 10:12 tells us that we should not do that; the Word of God says it is not wise. What we really should compare ourselves to is the Scriptures. Our standards of right and wrong differ much with how God expects us to live our lives. Remember, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; there are none righteous, no not one, etc.” Read Romans 3:9-18. Jesus Christ is the standard by which we should compare ourselves. Of course, we will never match Him but we are, as Christians to strive to become more and more Christlike.

Paul’s letter to the Galatians was in large part a strong rebuke to the Church for falling away from the gospel he had preached to them. Much of the preaching throughout Christianity today has departed from the true gospel of Jesus Christ and you don’t have to look far to see how true that statement is. Many say “there are many roads that lead to heaven”; “we can be saved aside from Jesus Christ”; “everyone is going to be saved”. “Tradition and manmade doctrines are superior to God’s Word”; “If I try my best to be good, I will make heaven”; “Others say there is no heaven or hell, etc.”

All of this false teaching only proves to me the tremendous ignorance there is in the body of Christ today. If you will read your Bible you will find that those who were saved, were saved by faith after hearing the foolishness of preaching, (see 1 Cor. 1:14-21; Gal. 2:16; Rom. 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 5:11-13). All were saved by faith, and then they were baptized in water. Remember the parable of the five virgins? They all thought they were saved but only five made it; the others were shut out. (Mt. 25: 1-13). Please, search out the Scriptures and be sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are saved and will spend eternity with Jesus Christ. God bless.
