GOOD NEWS

He was only twenty-four years old and serving as an Ensign aboard a naval ship in World War 11. He had left the Harvard School of Business which may have prepared him for a very lucrative career, and chose to serve in the armed forces to protect his country. While stationed near the Solomon Islands, a Japanese bomber made a suicide dive on the deck of his ship. Ensign Neal Anderson Scott was mortally wounded. Knowing he had just a few minutes to live, he first issued an order for his men to keep firing the guns; he then dictated a farewell message to his father: He said, “To have had you and Mother for these twenty-four years has been all I could ask for in this world.” Then he was gone. These words would never be forgotten by his parents; they would be treasured forever.

Would to God that every son and daughter could be raised in such a loving environment where they would so respect and admire, and be influenced by a mom and dad that worked hard and sacrificed much to keep their children on the straight and narrow path which leads to eternal life. (Matthew 7:13-14). Happy Father’s Day and God bless.
