GOOD NEWS

A young man in his early thirties spent much of his life doing hard drugs and drinking heavily. He was involved in all manner of immorality. He hated his life and figured that suicide would be better than the life he was living. However, a Christian was able to bring him to Christ. He repented of all his sin and faithfully attended Church. His pastor eventually learned that he could sing and play the guitar and asked him to sing for the Church just prior to next Sunday’s message.

When he stood before the Church he gave his testimony, telling them what the love of Christ meant to him after having lived so sinfully. He strummed for a little bit and began to sing, “I’m so glad that our Father in heaven, tells of His love in the Book He has given; Wonderful things in the Bible I see, this is the dearest, that Jesus loves me. Though I forget Him and wander away, Still He doeth love me wherever I stray; Back to His dear loving arms would I flee, when I remember that Jesus loves me, Oh if there’s only one song I could sing, when in His beauty I see the Great King, This shall my song in eternity be: Oh what a wonder, that Jesus loves me.”

Just a few days before he sang that song to the Church he was told that he was terminal and had just a short time to live. He is with Jesus now. This young man experienced the goodness of God that leads men to repentance (Romans 2:4). Have you come to Christ yet? He is eagerly waiting for you to come to Him that you may have abundant life. God bless.
