By John Stenen God created our world and entire universe with words. Genesis 1: “And God said…. and it was.” This is also stated in Hebrews 11:1. Our God is a faith God.
He tells us several times in the New Testament that we (Christians) are to live by faith. So what is biblical faith? It is nothing more than taking God at His Word, believing it and acting on it as if it is true -because it is. Jesus spoke to sickness and the people were healed; He spoke to demons and cast them out; He spoke to a fig tree and it obeyed Him; He spoke to the wind and waves and they obeyed; He spoke to dead Lazarus, and he came to life. In Acts 3: Peter spoke to the lame man who had never walked and said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk,” and he did.
This happened with the apostles, and Philip and Stephen, who were not apostles. Read Mark 11:22-24 and you will see that Jesus tells us that we can speak to the problems we’re dealing with and not doubt in our hearts but shall believe that what we are saying, we shall have whatsoever we say.” I know many think those words are foolish or not for today, but I believe that they are for today. But for any of this to work for a person today, they must be in a right relationship with God and understand faith. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Do you speak life or do you speak death? Think about it. God bless.
