By John Stenen I had just finished my sermon in one of the Tent-Meetings we held back in the 1980’s in this area. I called for those who would like prayer for their various needs to come forward; several did.
As I went down the line praying for them, a young man in the audience became very critical, saying to himself, (he revealed this to my wife many years later when I preached in another Church where he attended. “What a farce, I wonder how many times that old codger has been up for prayer? I don’t believe in this stuff, etc.” He was very critical. Then, he said, “I came under great conviction from the Holy Spirit (he was a Christian,) and I repented right there in my seat; “I’m sorry Lord, I have no idea what You might do for these people.” He said that in a short while a very warm feeling spread from his head all the way through his body and he found that an old football injury that gave him pain for the past twelve years was healed.
This man later was instrumental in starting a Bible believing Church. Many claim to believe the Bible, but many doubt much of the Bible. Read the New Testament and find that Jesus’ primary mission was to seek and save the lost, heal the sick, and cast out devils. He is the same today as He was then, only He uses believers to carry on His work through the power of the Holy Spirit, which is in all believers. God bless.
