By John Stenen The New Testament reveals to us over and over how Jesus rebuked His disciples for their unbelief. On the other hand we see quite often that Jesus commended many others for having faith in Him. He says to many of them, “Your faith has made you whole.” In Mt. 8: Jesus said to the Jewish people after hearing what the Roman centurion said, “I have not seen such great faith in all of Israel.” Then, in Mark 6: when Jesus comes to His hometown, scripture tells us that there He could do no mighty works because of their unbelief; only a few with minor illness were healed. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder to them who diligently seek Him. Isn’t it possible that we seldom see the power of God in operation because many are taught that God can heal today if He wants to, but He usually doesn’t want to. We seem to have far more faith in pills even with all the negative side effects, than we do in the many promises that God has given to us concerning healing. Scripture still tells us that all things are possible to them that believe. Mark 9:23. God bless.
