GOOD NEWS

The young missionary had not been in his new assignment, in a large village in Africa, very long, when one day, a group of eight boys had approached him, asking to be baptised in water. He was not sure if the boys had understood salvation, and had been truly born again; so he interviewed each of them to make sure. The last boy was quite young and he thought, “Surely as young as he is he must not understand what it is to surrender your life to Christ.”

As he began to ask questions, the other boys said, “He is the one who led the rest of us to Christ.” Isn’t that a great a child leads others to Christ. If only more adult Christians would dedicate themselves to winning others to Jesus as well. Too many Christians are ‘closet Christians’, and keep the wonderful news of the gospel to themselves. We are all commissioned by Christ to go into all the world and preach Christ to others. Scripture tells us that there is great rejoicing among the angels of God when one sinner comes to Christ. Many people believe they are Christians, when they are not. Titus 1:15-16 tells us that many profess to know Christ, but in their daily lives they prove that they do not know Him. Also, Mt. 7:21-23 tells us that many will declare all the good things they did for God, believing they are Christians, only to hear Jesus say:, “depart from Me ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you.” 2 Cor. 13:5 tells us to examine ourselves to see whether or not our faith in Christ is genuine. Are you positive that you are saved and in the family of God? I hope so. God bless.
