GOOD NEWS
By John Stenen A young man driving recklessly fast with a bumper sticker on his car which read, ‘Jesus Saves!’ was pulled over by an officer who said to him: “Your reckless speeding, and endangering the lives of innocent people and yourself is at variance with what is printed on your bumper; and it brings no honor to the One of whom your sticker speaks.”
We have just elected a new President and Vice President of the United States. My prayer is that whether you love and respect them or not, that we would all unite as Americans and do as our Lord Jesus Christ admonishes us to do: - ‘Pray for our leaders that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life’. As Christians, we are to be rooted and grounded in the Word of God; we are to exhibit love and not hate. We bring no honor to God when Christians are filled with anger, bitterness and hate. It is one thing to be disappointed with leaders, it is sin to hate them, and wish harm to them. When George Washington’s army was in imminent danger, his orders were to “Make sure Americans are on watch tonight.” I believe our new leaders have America’s best interest at heart, and with the help of Almighty God will be a great blessing to our nation. The persecution of the Christian Church will be lifted and I believe millions more will be added to the Church as they surrender their lives to Christ. I hope you will be in that crowd. God bless.
