By John Stenen A Roman Centurion’s servant was paralyzed and dreadfully tormented. He came to Jesus asking Him to come to his house and heal the man. Immediately Jesus said He will come. It was always His will to heal. The centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come into my house, but just speak the word and my servant shall be healed.” Scripture says that Jesus marveled at this man’s faith and said, “I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” Jesus then said, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. (Mt. 8:5-13). Now contrast that with the story in Mark 6:1-6. Jesus had been doing healings and miracles all around, but when He came to His own hometown, they were astonished at His teachings. They admitted His mighty works have been done by Him. However, after saying that His brothers and sisters lived in the village, they were offended by Him, and there, He could do no mighty work. Scripture says, “He marveled at their unbelief. I find the same problem in much of the Church world today. “He doesn’t heal today” they say, “unless He wants to; that all passed away after the last apostle died.” Wrong! “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. He requires that we renew our minds with His Word, study His Word, believe His Word and act on His Word - and not doubt in our hearts. Read Mark 11:22-25. That is how we receive blessings from God. If we keep doubt and unbelief in heart. we receive nothing. James 1:6-7. Have you received Christ into your heart by faith yet? Eph. 2:8 says, “We are saved by grace through faith.”
