By John Stenen What is the unpardonable sin? Many people believe they have committed it and believe there is no hope for them.
In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus addresses this problem and He is speaking to the religious leaders of His day. These religious leaders were men who were supposedly mature in the Lord and knew God; instead, Jesus referred to them as hypocrites, (Mt. 23). These religious leaders claimed that Jesus was casting out demons because He Himself had a demon, this was blasphemous because Jesus was doing it by the power of the Holy Spirit. On one occasion Jesus told these hypocrites that the harlots and tax collectors would go into heaven before they would, because the religious leaders would not believe in Jesus that He was the Son of God. If you have a desire to know God and desire to be saved - it is a sure sign that the Holy Spirit is still working in your life to bring you to Christ. I encourage you to receive Him today, right now. Repent of your sin, Ask God to forgive you and He will. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and He will. (Rev. 3:20; John 1:12).
When a mature Christian credits the work of the Holy Spirit to the work of Satan, that is blasphemy. A person who does not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour cannot commit the unpardonable sin other than in the fact that they reject Jesus. If you reject Jesus, you will die in your sin and be lost forever; why would you want to do that? Please, before it is too late, come to Christ.
God bless.
