GOOD NEWS

Gospel of Jesus Christ for better than four decades. I have heard many debates concerning the subject, ‘Once saved, always saved?’ I heard a minister say once, “I’m saved, and there is nothing I can do to lose it. Even if I murdered my wife and lived in immorality with many women, I would still be saved. In fact, if I wanted to go to hell - I couldn’t lose my salvation.” Thank God that few people would be that extreme in believing lies like that.

I truly believe in eternal security, but scripture gives us conditions.

God tells us that a man who lives righteously and turns from his righteousness and does not repent will perish in his sin. Read Ezekiel 33: carefully. John tells us that if a man hates his brother he is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15. Also, if a person chooses to live in sin, they will not make it to heaven.

Read Galatians 5:19 and 1 Cor.

6:9-11, Also, read Hebrews 6:1- 6; Luke 12:41-46. John 10: is used often to defend the teaching that we can never lose our salvation. In John 10: 27 Jesus says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” So, what about those who quit following Him and go back to loving the world and all its evil pleasures? Colossians 1:21- 23 tells us that when we are in Christ (saved), we are holy and blameless, and verse 23 says, “if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel you heard…..” I be-
