Girls Start Season in Worthington

The girls team battled windy, chilly conditions this past Saturday at the Worthington Girls Invitational. MCC faced off against golfers from Worthington, Fairmont, Jackson County Central, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, Luverne, Pipestone, Hills-Beaver Creek and Windom. The Rebel girls all did well for their first meet of the season. MCC’s four golfers were able to identify areas of improvement, but also found strengths in their mental game. The Rebels came in fourth place as a team with a score of 522. Ava Johnson, a junior at MCC, walked away with the 1st place individual medal after carding a 97. Lizzie Daniels finished in 3rd place, and Natalie Einck placed 4th. The girls will need to continue working on consistency off the tee box and cutting down the amount of putts on the greens. On the boys side, Lucas Kuball was the low scorer for MCC with a 50. Kuball finished the meet tied in 4th place. Hudson Schryvers came in next for the Rebels and finished in 6th place.
