By Kathy Schwartz, Murray County Master Gardener When harvesting rhubarb, use your hands to pull and twist the stalk off the plant. Immediately trim the leaves off the stalk to minimize wilting. Harvest through the end of June only.
Crabgrass doesn’t develop until late spring or early summer.
Plant roses in full sun. They need 6 hours of direct exposure or they will have fewer blooms and less vigorous foliage.
Plant perennials in odd-numbered groups to create a natural effect. Large groups look better than smaller ones. Groups of 3,5, or 7 are best.
