By: Kathy Schwartz, Murray County Master Gardener Increase the vase life of cut flowers by using a sharp knife or cutting scissors to cut the base of the stem at an angle. Take a bucket of water with you to the garden and place the flowers in the bucket immediately.
Anthills may appear in the lawn. They don’t harm anything but may be annoying. You can use insecticide labeled to control the pest. Read and follow all label directions.
Stop fertilizing in dry, hot weather. This will just add more stress to the plants.
