The best time to repair, replace, or start a new lawn is now through mid-September. If your lawn has 60% or more weeds and bare spots, you may benefit from this.
Lightly rake mulch during wet periods to prevent slime mold. This fungus develops and feeds on the mulch. It looks disgusting. Its common name is dog vomit fungus. It does not harm the plants.
Remove suckers that appear at the base of roses. Cut them off below the ground so they don’t sprout. These canes are growing from hardy rootstock and will interfere with the vigor of the grafted rose.
