On February 9th, six members of the Fulda High School Choir attended the 2026 Concordia University Saint Paul high school honor choir on the university campus. Together with FHS music director Mr. Matthew Saxman, these students recorded video auditions, sent them in, and were selected for their vocal excellence. FHS students selected for the event were (from left to right) Matthew Stapek, Peysen Gutierrez, Emma Nielsen, Nevaeh Echternach, Grace Ouellette, and Ruth Ethridge.

Under the direction of Concordia Saint Paul Director of Choral Arts, Dr. Paul von Kampen, the honor choir of approximately 70 students from around Minnesota rehearsed music throughout the day. They also had sectionals, got to see the college campus, and learned about what it’s like to be a member of a college choir.

In the evening, the honor choir performed the music they had rehearsed, got to listen to the auditioned Christus Chorus university choir, and performed one finale song jointly with them.

It was a wonderful, musical experience for all involved.
