Representative Schumacher lauds efforts to expand STEM offerings to students of Fulda.

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) today announced an educational grant of $2,000 for the Fulda Educational Foundation which will go toward Fulda High School’s 8th grade science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programming. School representatives and students were joined by Representative Joe Schumacher at an event today announcing the grant.

PhRMA partnered with the Fulda Education Foundation to bring this vital funding to local students. The funds will be used to support the 8th grade STEM programming at the Fulda High School.

“I’m thrilled for students in Fulda to succeed with this grant award. In a world where STEM jobs develop at an overwhelming rate, these kids will have more doors open to them because of the school’s program. They have bright futures to look forward to,” said Representative Schumacher.

“We are excited to put this generous grant to work for our students by broadening their exposure to STEM topics,” said Mike Pagel, Superintendent of Fulda Public Schools and principal of Fulda High School. “Students in our community will benefit from this grant and we are very thankful to PhRMA for recognizing the work we are doing in Fulda.”

“PhRMA represents the country’s top biopharmaceutical research companies that allow the United States to be a leader in innovation, particularly in the fight to combat COVID-19. Programs like this are an excellent way for students to develop an interest in STEM careers. PhRMA is proud to support the Fulda Educational Foundation and their commitment to offering students quality STEM education opportunities,” said Reid Porter, PhRMA.
