FRIENDS OF LAKE SHETEK STATE PARK TO HOST 1ST ANNUAL SUMMER ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Join us on Saturday, July 30 from 1-3 pm at Lake Shetek’s historic stone beach house overlooking beautiful Lake Shetek for a cool treat while helping to raise funds for special projects in the state park.

Some of the special projects that these funds will be used for are new playground equipment, to replace aging and out of date equipment, and re-installing the campground council ring for interpretive programming. We will be serving cones or dishes of ice cream along with several yummy toppings.

Vehicle permits are required for entry into the state park and can be purchased at the park office. Vehicle permits are $7 for the day or $35 for an annual.

Lake Shetek State Park is located 14 miles northeast of Slayton or 13 miles south of Tracy. Access to the park is by County Road 38, north of Currie.

For more information or to volunteer at the event, contact the park directly at (507) 763- 3256 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.
