FIRST BATCH OF BALLOTS SENT OUT FOR MURRAY COUNTY MAIL PRECINCTS

More than half of the election precincts. In Murray County vote by mail, according to Murray County Auditor/Treasurer Heidi Winter, and the bulk of those ballots have been sent out.

The first batch of ballots was mailed on October 1. They were sent to all registered voters in those precincts. A second batch will be sent out October 20 for any new registrations, Winter said.

Any unregistered voters in a mail ballot precinct can go to the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office in the Murray County Government Center during business hours to register and vote.

Normal hours are 8 – 4:30 Monday through Friday, but in the days leading up to the November 3 election, hours will be extended. On Saturday, Oct. 24, hours will run from 9 am to 3 pm. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the office will be open until 7 pm. The office will be open from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 1. On Monday, Nov. 2, the office will be open until 5 pm, and on Tuesday, Nov. 3, Election Day hours will be 8 am to 8 pm.

To return the mail ballots, there are several options. They can be mailed back, but please allow adequate time for mailing. The ballots can also be dropped off in person at the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office or put in the secure drop boxes on the north and south entrances of the Government Center at 2500 28th Street.
