Let me introduce myself; I’m Tracy Hansen and a Nurse Practitioner at Murray County Medical Center. As many of you know, my husband and I are 3rd generation grain famers near Currie. I also grew up on hog and grain farm just across the border into South Dakota that my dad and brother continue to operate. My passion for agriculture, the American Farmer, and our way of life continues!
Lord knows, being a farmer takes guts and grit. So many things you cannot control… the weather, the market, equipment breakdowns, the cost of inputs, and the list goes on. But despite that, you wake up each morning, thankful for this opportunity to live and work independently. You are brave, proud, hardworking, and dedicated to this lifestyle and your success.
A shout out to my farm spouses and family members; we know farming takes a village, from those that support you with meals, go-fer runs, taking care of the home front, and encouragement to stay positive You are equally as tough, brave, and full of grit.
My intention with this monthly article is to support you, your family, and your wellness. I want to help you live your best life, take care of yourself and your family, and ensure the family farm legacy continues.
Next month’s topic; the combine gets a check up… You should too!
Long live the farmer, Tracy Hansen, Nurse Practitioner If you have any comments on this article or ideas to address in this publication email me at hansent@murraycountymed. org.
