The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 with a short agenda. Auditor Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the final pay request for renovations completed to the Courts Building bathroom. The total cost of the project was $104,142 with work completed by Doom & Cuypers. A donation of $4,000 was accepted from the Murray County Ag Society (fairgrounds committee) for upgrading the lighting in Olson Arena. Compeer Financial had contributed the monies.
Zoning Administrator Jean Christoffels presented two Conditional Use Permits for approval. The first will allow the construction of a One mw solar garden in Section 13, Chanarambie Township. The developer are required to submit a bond in the amount of $75,000 to be used in the event the garden is abandoned and becomes the responsibility of the garden for clean up.
The second CUP allows Asa and Morgan Nelson to construction a new feedlot in Section 28, Lake Sarah Township.
Historical Museum Director Jakob Etrheim requested a waiver of admission fees at End O Line Park for the holiday weekend. The waiver will extend from Friday, July 2 through July 4th. A “free will” collection will be requested that normally exceeds the amount of fees that would have been collected.
Highway Engineer Randy Groves received approval to accept the bid of Prahm Construction Co. for replacement of the bridge in Currie. The company has met all the requirements of the Office of Civil Rights needed on a federal aid project. Work on the bridge is expected to begin in November and extend to June 2023.
Judge Michelle Dietrich has requested changes to the IT setup in the Courts Building. The project was acceptable to the Commissioners. Judge Dietrich will be looking at financing from the district court system for financing.
