Once again, Currie held their annual 4th of July Duck Races on the DesMoines River. In the business division, Rylan Rupp of Rupp Rock & Gravel came in first and will be donating his winnings to Tracy Area Animal Rescue. The People’s Choice Award best entry was awarded to The Duck Pond and they are donating their winnings to the Currie Fire Dept.
The small ducks that were drawn from the water were: $750 - Sue Streff $500 - Tom Bailey $250 - Darren Schuur $100 - Duane Ourada $100 - Desneige Gervais $100 - Mike Rykhus $100 - Joan Jorgenson $100 - Mary Sweetman
