The Murray County Historical Society Lunchbox Lecture will host presenter Dr. Anita Talsma Gaul on Thursday, February 8 at noon in the Murray County 4-H building on the Fairgrounds.
Dr. Gaul’s presentation will be on the recently redesigned Minnesota State Flag and Seal. Dr. Gaul served as Vice-Chair of the State Emblems Redesign Commission.
About the presenter: Dr. Talsma Gaul is a professor of History at Minnesota West Community and Technical College. She served as the Curator for End O Line Park from 2013 through 2018 and adjunct professor of history at Southwest Minnesota State University. Her publications include “The Women of Southwest Minnesota and the Great War” and “Homely Girls and Pretty Babies: A History of the Murray County Fair”. Gaul has also written six on-line articles for the history website MNopedia.
