Award winners - Michaela Muecke, Adelaide Lundy, Tyler Reith & Annie Scandrett
The Creative Writing Awards Ceremony and reception was held on April 24, 2022, at SMSU in Marshall. Sixty-nine talented students entered the writing contest in the categories of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. The Creative Writing Contest is designed to encourage the love of language and writing for all students, as well as a way to recognize the talented young writers in southwest and west central Minnesota. SWWC Service Cooperative & Southwest Minnesota State University have partnered to make this event possible.
The following MCC 6th Grade students were awarded medals and an anthology with all the winning entries. Tyler Reith was 2nd place in poetry. Michaela Muecke was 3rd place in poetry. Annie Scandrett placed 1st & 2nd in non-fiction. Adelaide Lundy placed 3rd in non-fiction. Congratulations writers!
