The January 28, 2023 meeting began with brunch hosted by Marti Engelkes, Sheila Risacher and their committee. Regent Amy Kathman called the meeting to order beginning with prayer and the flag pledge. Correspondence from numerous recipients of the Christmas baskets was read and all expressed much gratitude. Jill McCord has volunteered to take care of the Seminarian’s funds and distribution. Thanks Jill! With no Legislative chair, Amy gave an overview of how a bill becomes law and other workings of the State legislature which she received from the State CDA chair. There were no reports from the Spirituality or Youth chairs since they were absent.
Thanks to all who contributed items for the Dudley House. Items that were collected will be delivered to the Dudley House in Sioux Falls. The Daughters felt it was a good project and should be continued by doing it twice a year in March and September and to include the needs of the St. Frances House also. Barb Minnehan will make an attractive box to entice donations.
The Lenten lunches were discussed at length concerning number of lunches, the number of workers to offer a lunch, food, and lunch chair persons. It was decided to BEGIN with 3 lunches, Feb 23, March 2 and March 9, look at the results and hopefully have more.
The convention in Moorhead will be April 20-22. Our court can send 3 delegates. Anyone wishing to go should contact Amy by March 1 so registration can take place.
