Court Queen of Peace met after the 5 PM Mass on Aug 3., 2021 with 15 members present. A sandwich, salad supper was served by the officers. Regent Joann Halbur called the meeting to order after a prayer by Father Thien Nguyen. Secretary and Treasurer’s reports were read. Financial secretary, Jean Eich, reported that there still 10 members needing to pay dues. Lee Crowley, Support Our Seminarians chair, read correspondence from Isiah Olsem who is pursuing his first year in theology.
The other seminarians that we support are Joseph Galush and Michael Szymanski. Amy Kathman, Youth, said she expects more activity this fall. There were no reports from Legislative, Women’s Religious or Spirituality. Rita Lear and Jeaneen Nelson gave a synopsis of Spring Fling and indicated that another person on the team would be helpful. Jeaneen also requested that someone volunteer to send cards to those with birthdays, special anniversaries, shut-ins, and the sick.
Joann initiated a discussion about a fundraiser. Some of the ideas were a meal after the 5 PM Mass, or walking tacos. A motion was made to table the fundraiser discussion for now.
