COURT QUEEN OF PEACE

Court Queen of Peace met Sept.16 beginning with a light supper followed by call to order by Deanna Konkol. Yvonne Zontag was introduced as the District Deputy for this area. After prayer and flag pledge the secretary and treasurer’s reports and correspondence from scholarship winner, Carson Engelkes, were read. There was also an invitation from Murray County Museum to decorate a Christmas tree using the theme ”Hunting for the Holidays”. No one volunteered. Barb Minnehan indicated 65 members with 6 left to pay dues. Jill McCord passed the dish for donations for the seminarians.

The Legion Auxiliary Table Tour will be Oct. 11 with a couple tickets left for sale. Gummi Bear Habitat for Humanity campaign will be Saturdays in Currie and Sundays in Slayton during the month of October. The Daughters were asked to give ideas for preserving the emblems on the CDA gowns before they are disposed of. Dudley House donations will take place during Oct. Needed are socks and underwear for adults and children. A list of items will be forthcoming. Joy boxes are available and need to be filled and returned to St. Ann’s office by Nov. 10, Items needed are included in the box. A committee for arrangements for the 75th anniversary will be forming soon. If interested let Deanna know.

There was little interest in a ‘Sisters Trip’ to Milroy, Sleepy Eye and Ulm slated for Thur., Oct. 2. There was discussion about the preference of food at our meetings. No action was taken. A suggestion was made to return to make a rotating list so that all members are included in having food for each meeting instead of daughters volunteering.

The next meeting will be at 2:30 on October 23 at Stonegate Apple Orchard with pie and ice cream. Marilou Christensen and Sharon McClure volunteered for the Nov. 18 meeting. The financial audit followed the meeting.
