Court Queen of Peace met at IHM in Currie March 22 at 9:30 with 23 members present. After a delicious fruit and breads breakfast Regent Deanna Konkol called the meeting to order followed by prayer and flag pledge. Sandy Anderson was welcomed as a new member. Secretary Pam Marshall and treasurer Betty Palmer gave reports.
Barb Minnehan reported a good response to the collection of items for the Dudley House in Sioux Falls.
Jan Bryan spoke about the failure of the legislature to support babies who survive abortion. She also called our attention to “Clothes Off” an app that takes a picture of a person and then proceeds to take off the clothes. Currently it is not a sexual act and therefore not a punishable act.
Pam Marshall spoke about Call to Freedom a non-profit that provides support for victims and survivors of human trafficking and commercial exploitation. No action was taken by the daughters at this time.
The unfinished business was the Eggbake Breakfast which was termed a success. The 50/50 Raffle is ongoing. - buy a ticket for $5 - ½ stays in the court and ½ goes to State CDA. The State convention will be held in Owatonna April 24-26 with Regent Konkol, Jan Bryan, Jeaneen Nelson and Rita Lear attending.
The Daughters signed Easter cards to be sent to shut-ins. The next meeting is April 22 at 5:30 with Judy Andrews, Marge Schoon, Daryl Johnson, Joyce and Sheila Risacher on the lunch committee.
