On 11/22/2023 at 1238pm Murray County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls about an explosion at the Chandler Feed Company in Chandler, MN. Numerous area Fire Departments were immediately paged to provide mutual aid.
One person was injured in the explosion and was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries; their condition is unknown at this time.
Mutual aid fire departments remained on scene until around 0420 AM on 11/23/2023. Chandler Fire Department is continuing to monitor the scene to ensure the fire does not re-ignite.
The Murray County Sheriffs Office was assisted on scene by the Pipestone County Sheriffs Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
The Chandler Fire Department and First Responders were assisted at the scene by the following agencies; Lake Wilson Fire Department and First Responders, Slayton Fire Department, Iona Fire Department, Woodstock Fire Department, Pipestone Fire Department, Worthington Fire Department, Edgerton Fire Department and Ambulance, Murray County Ambulance, Murray County Emergency Management, Nobles County Emergency Management, Grimmius Trucking, Bolluyt Trucking, Xcel Energy and C and J Construction.
We would like to thank the local businesses who brought food, water and allowed us to use their buildings to feed and provide for breaks for emergency responders.
